Review of Lush, Ruby Red Slippers Bubble Bar

Every time Lush releases bubble bars containing a coating of glitter on the outer surface I pass it up because I always fear that I will be covered with glitter after the bath is done. Year after year though, with every new and enticing release I hear time and time again that their glitter covered bubble bars are wonderful. When the raving reviews come out, I kick myself for not giving the glittery wonder a try.

When I saw a glittery red bubble bar being sold this holiday season called, Ruby Red Slippers Bubble Bar, I figured I would take the plunge and give it a try. If I hated it, I would never bother with glitter drenched bubble bars again.

When it came to Lush's Ruby Red Slippers Bubble Bar, I was dazzled by just how beautiful it really was. I expected it to be this messy flaking blob, but instead I was delivered exactly what I saw online, a beautiful little bubble bar with a glorious coating of red glitter flecks. It truly did look like a ruby red slipper, except for the shape, which is more like a large truffle than a slipper worn by Dorothy.

This bubble bar was much harder than bubble bars I have used in the past, and took some muscle power to cut it in half, to save one piece for later. Getting it to actually crumble under running water also took some muscle power, but it did not matter, because as I ran it under the water it truly came to life releasing a lovely deep red color to the bath after, and foaming up and creating immediate mounds of bubbles.

The Scent:

Ruby Red Slippers by Lush did not really give off much of a fragrance while I waited to get into the tub. Once in though, I found out what was so special abut this gem. It had a spiced cinnamon fragrance that was so warm, so inviting, and so delicious. It smelled like a perfect winter or fall scent, and I was glad that I gave it a try, because it was one o my favorite bubble bars by Lush, that I have used in a long time.

Lasting Power:

The scent never faded, or began to die away, nor did the bubbles, as they stood long and strong up until I stepped out of the tub and drained the water.

What I loved about Ruby Red Slippers was how the water turned silky and left my skin moisturized and soft after drying up. The scent also stood with me for quite some time after the bath.

Overall:

Long lasting scent, mounds of bubbles, skin moisturizing, and a warm fragrance to die for. What more could one ask for in a bubble bar? Glitter not to stick to skin maybe. Well rest assured, the glitter did not stick to my skin, or to the bottom of the tub.
